2019年 Changelog.com 的基础架构变化

The new changelog.com setup for 2019

VS Code

VS Code on Your Server

The Shift From Open Source To Commercial Data Analytics Is Placing Cost Over Accuracy

Branding vs Marketing: Innovative Solutions In Today’s Digital Marketplace

“why did I set up this brand?” “What is my purpose with my product(s) for the long term?” “Do I want to expand over time or keep it local?” “What am I actually trying to accomplish besides make money and what is my target audience?”

Nginx

NGINX to Join F5: Proud to Finish One Chapter and Excited to Start the Next

F5 acquires NGINX for $670M to move into open-source, multi-cloud services

Open source advances deeper into hardware: The CHIPS Alliance project

“Open collaboration has repeatedly proven to help industries accelerate time to market, achieve long-term maintainability, and create de facto standards,” said Mike Dolan, the Linux Foundation’s vice president of strategic programs, said in a statement. “The same collaboration model applies to the hardware in a system, just as it does to software components. We are eager to host the CHIPS Alliance and invite more organizations to join the initiative to help propel collaborative innovation within the CPU and SoC markets.”

Edge

Microsoft: We want to fix Chromium’s ‘janky’ mouse scrolling with a dose of Edge

What’s happening in the OpenStack community?

A software market prediction: it’s all about open source

Linux

The Linux Foundation Launches New CommunityBridge Platform to Help Sustain Open Source Communities

  • CommunityBridge Funding: enabling developers to transparently raise and spend funding;
  • CommunityBridge Security: providing transparency into potential vulnerabilities and fixes; and
  • CommunityBridge People: enabling easy connections of mentors and prospective mentees interested in getting involved in projects and advancing diversity.

Intel, Linux Foundation Launch Open Source Silicon Groups

Tetrate

Tetrate nets $12.5 million to bring microservices to the corporate masses

科技创业公司的典范,a company bringing commercial services and support to the open-source projects Istio and Envoy, providing network management functions for the microservices that make up modern mobile applications。

AWS Elasticsearch

AWS Elasticsearch distro stokes open source competitive fires

Today’s open source software communities are as much about end users as they are about the providers. ———— Jay Lyman ,analyst, 451 Research

New CI/CD Foundation Draws Tech’s Big Beasts, Open Source Donations

Continuous Delivery Foundation hopes to bring rhyme and reason to CI/CD

MongoDB Q4 revenues surge on cloud business

Suse

Suse is once again an independent company

Suse was first acquired by Novell in 2004. Novell was then acquired by Attachmate in 2010, which Micro Focus acquired in 2014. The company then turned Suse into an independent division, only to then announce its sale to EQT in the middle of 2018. Since IBM recently bought Red Hat for $34 billion, though, it remains to be seen how long Suse’s independent future will last. The market for open source is only heating up, after all.

Cloud computing: Why Microsoft’s open source data plan is a big step forward

If you want to move data from Azure to Adobe’s marketing cloud or between SAP and Dynamics the way the three companies encourage customers to do under the Open Data Initiative, then it would make more sense to move it while it’s compressed rather than expanding it. And doing that means both clouds and any servers you’re using will need to understand Zipline.

The Cloud and Open Source Powder Keg

One hundred years ago, leadership of dozens of countries decided to march into a conflict that it knew would be costly, horrifically damaging and from which there was unlikely to be a real winner. They did so because they didn’t see any other choice. The technology industry doesn’t seem to either.
